Shoebaloo’s shops distinguish themselves by exceptional interior design, with a chicness that complements the brands on offer.

MVSA had already designed many of the existing branches, and was entrusted with the new location for the company’s flagship women’s shop on Koningsplein in Amsterdam. The fact that the new location is in a listed building is integrated in the shop design. While most Shoebaloo branches have a mysterious display window that reveals little of what lies behind, the Koningsplein branch is open and transparent from the outside.

In true Shoebaloo tradition, our design offers a comprehensive spatial experience, with shoes presented like precious treasures. The shop consists of two elliptical spaces which gravitate towards each other. The sinuous walls are clad with layers of pure white Hi-Macs, a solid surface material, and interspersed with translucent displays and underlying LEDs. The floor is composed of book-matched marble slabs, while the dark ceilings showcase a pattern of fluid, glowing lines that twist through a starry sky.
